OUR STORY

Our paths should have never crossed, but in April 2011 we met at a birthday party in Washington, DC.

Albert technically was not invited but came with a friend; Chris had just moved back to DC one week prior and nearly could not make it to the party. As fate would have it we connected that night, and two weeks later we spent hours talking on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Our DC connection made meeting each other possible. Chris was raised in Pittsburgh and moved to DC to work for President Bush. After working in the White House, Chris joined his siblings in his family’s chocolate business. Albert was raised in Arkansas and fell in love with DC as a Senate Page. He attended GWU for college, and afterwards he moved to Japan to work for three years before returning to DC in 2010.

Our 2011 conversation on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial was the start of an instant connection. Our worlds grew closer, and we quickly knew that we were meant to be together.

In 2014, after Albert received his MBA at Georgetown University, we agreed to leave Washington and found ourselves solidifying a life together in Pittsburgh – a city we have grown to love. And – FINALLY – after seven years together, Chris proposed on a trip to the Amalfi Coast.

We will always remember that night in 2011 when we met. A touch of fate brought us together, but it was our community of friends and family that supports our foundation. Thank you for sharing our journey, and we're excited for what's next.
